About

Hi, I'm Ben Wildeboer.

I've been a science educator for 14 years, teaching in Michigansoutheastern Connecticut, and, as of January 2017, Lake County, IL.

Professionally, I'm interested in designing instructional environments that allow students time to collaboratively work as scientists, the effective use of technology by students and teachers, and standards-based grading. I've also served as an Instructional Technology Coach, have led professional development sessions for teachers on a wide variety of (usually technology related) topics, and was a co-organizer of EdCamp Connecticut.

If you'd like to contact me, you can either leave a comment on this site or email me directly ben (dot) wildeboer (at) gmail (dot) com. If you're interested in hiring me for the 2012-2013 I'd be happy to send my resume your way.

Through this blog I hope to share my struggles, successes, and thoughts. I encourage your feedback; both positive and negative. One of the wonderful things about this format is the ability for readers to interject their own thoughts and ideas. I hope to learn much from those who stop by to read what I've written.
